Lurín, Peru Project

In 2007 ORC began a partnership with Calvary Chapel Vida church in Lima, Peru and pastor Javier Barrionuevo. The Lord was leading us all to minister to children and families in a small barrio in Lima named Lurín. That's when Pastor Javier decided to move to this area to serve full-time as pastor in this poor community, and the Lord moved to allow the purchase of a building that has been modified to serve as a church, as well as a feeding center.
The community has also been blessed to have a missionary family, the Allegres, as well as Sandy Gil, a former staff member of ORC move to Lurín to witness to the community. There have been many that have come to Christ and the harvest is plentiful.
Many people who accepted Christ were baptized in the Pacific Ocean's fridgid waters on a cool day. The youth outreach in Lurín has been successful, as many have been active in church praise & worship, spiritual dramas, and working in the feeding center. They have also been soaking up the Word of God in Bible Studies.
